WePlay moves from research to action: getting ready for the classroom
WePlay is entering an exciting new stage. After months of research, development and collaboration between European partners, the project is now moving closer to real classroom implementation.
The findings of the WePlay study “Applying Gamification in Classroom Settings” are helping to guide the development of the platform and its educational games. The aim is to turn research into practical learning experiences that encourage meaningful learning, student choice, collaboration and inclusion.
From research to real classrooms
WePlay is a European educational gamification project connecting rural and urban schools and transforming classrooms into collaborative gamified learning environments.
During the project, the partners have been working on understanding how gamification can support learning, translating research and educational objectives into the WePlay platform and games, and preparing teachers to use the new tools.
The next important step will be to bring WePlay into real classrooms from October 2026, when the pilot phase will begin.
Teachers, get ready!
Ahead of the pilot phase, WePlay will hold an Online Teacher Training session on 24 September 2026.
The session will help teachers:
- Explore the WePlay platform.
- Learn about gamified learning activities.
- Prepare to use WePlay in the classroom.
- Connect with the wider WePlay educational community.
The training will help participating teachers become familiar with the platform before the October pilot.
Learning for a shared future
WePlay also supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 13 – Climate Action, as well as European values.
Schools, teachers and students will not only have the opportunity to use a new educational tool: their experience and feedback will also contribute to the development of a European platform designed together with the educational community.
You can explore the latest WePlay resources and project updates at weplayproject.eu, share the project with your school and educational networks, and follow #WePlayEU as the pilot phase begins across Europe.
